WHO WE ARE
School in a Box was founded in South Africa in 2015 with the vision to develop and provide collaborative, scalable educational platforms to connect, equip and empower people in Southern African – in 2020 School in a Box became a branch of Reaching a Generation.

We are a Social Business. That means that we work to address a social issue, in this case, education. We aim to be financially self-sustainable, and profits are reinvested in the social focus. The purpose of these profits is to advance the process of giving back to the community in the form of education.
School in a Box is focused on whole-person development and can help learners to achieve their full potential. With the exception of the SiB SOLO, each kit includes either a Raspberry Pi or a mini-server, which means that all lessons and most apps can be accessed offline.
School in a Box is registered in South Africa as a Public Benefit Organisation which allows us to issue Section 18a tax certificates for donations of cash or in kind.
We believe that every learner deserves the opportunity for quality education – Our aim is to get a School in a Box system in the hands of as many teachers and after-school facilities as possible.
School in a Box is a self-paced educational resource that allows facilitators to teach students from any grade (Grade R to Grade 12) as students are coached to achieve mastery in every subject through the School in a Box program. Our Kindergarten to Grade 3 lessons are full-school ready, by meeting the South African national government regulations for CAPS curriculum.
Helping to educate the next generation of African's is the key to unlocking the future.

Education is a critical aspect of child development. In some of the most difficult areas of the world, we are seeing the education systems fall apart. More and more people are dissatisfied with education in local schools, with the erosion of morals and values. School in a Box will become a viable alternative.
We believe in whole-person development – With the addition of a Christian Curriculum, we can focus on more than just education. This optional track will help to develop both children and teens to have moral values and a foundational worldview.
Various training options are available for new users of the School in a Box system. We aim to keep the training fee to a minimum. Training videos are also available for those who need a refresher or help training new team members.
We will charge a nominal license fee per tablet to enable remote support and continued development requirements. Depending on the volume this can be adjusted as the intent of this is for sustainability, rather than profit.

INNOVATIVE EDUCATION SOLUTIONS
Evidence shows that students who read for pleasure perform better in all subjects, even Maths. In response, we are excited to offer learners a digital library for ages 6 to 18; with over 600 books (including audiobooks) in all 11 official languages, with more than 100 of them being English storybooks (including audiobooks).
